What workers can and can't do

Workers search the web, use a browser, work in the apps you connect and on your Mac, and always ask before the things that matter.

What workers can do

  • Answer and write. Draft replies, posts, plans and notes in a chat.
  • Search the web. Look things up and read web pages.
  • Use a browser. Open websites and work in them. You can watch in the Inspector's Browser view, and click Take Control to step in.
  • Read files you give them. Attach files in a chat with + > Attach Files.
  • Make files. What a worker makes is kept with its task and in Files.
  • Work in apps you connect, such as Google Calendar, YouTube, X or GitHub, as each app's Permissions allow.
  • Work on your Mac, with the Mac app, when you turn on Allow Work on Your Mac and as each worker's Mac Access allows.
  • Ask each other for help. A worker can ask another worker on your team for part of the work.
  • Keep goals and repeat work. Workers keep count of your Goals and do Routines that repeat by themselves.
  • Learn. Corrections become a worker's Rules, and facts it learns go in its Memory.

What workers always ask about

Sending, paying, posting, deleting and changing settings always ask you, whatever the chat's Permissions say. A worker that posts to X shows you the exact text first, and posts only after you allow it.

What workers can't do

  • See your passwords. When you connect an app, you sign in on that app's own page. Little Worker never sees your password.
  • Read your email. Little Worker does not ask Google for access to Gmail.
  • Change anything in some apps. In GitHub, Sentry and Cloudflare, workers can only read.
  • Do what you turned off. With Read or Act set to Off for an app, or Mac Access set to Never, the worker cannot do that part.
  • Answer for someone else. Only the person who started a task can answer what it asks.
  • Keep working past your limit. Work stops at the end of what your subscription includes and any work you added, or at your own limit in Settings > Cost.

Workers can be wrong

Every worker is an AI. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it can sound sure when it is wrong. Check results before you use, send or publish them. Do not rely on them as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
