A to-do came back wrong

Send Back a result that is not right, and teach the worker for next time.

Workers can be wrong

Every worker is an AI, not a person. AI can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and it can sound sure when it is wrong. Check results before you use, send, or publish them.

Send it back

When a task is Done, its result shows on Today and in its chat.

  1. Click Send Back on the result. On iPhone, tap Send Back.
  2. Write one line about what should change.
  3. Click Send. On iPhone, tap Send Back in the sheet.

The worker starts one new attempt with your note. Every attempt counts work units, so a to-do you send back counts again.

Teach the worker for next time

On the Mac, a worker's page has About, with Rules and Memory under it:

  • About: what the worker is for, and how it works. The worker reads it before every task.
  • Rules: how it works, one rule to a line. Use Add Rule to teach it something it got wrong.
  • Memory: notes the worker keeps while working. You can see every change and undo it.

Ask before it acts

If a worker did something in an app or on your Mac that you did not want, set its Permissions to Ask First. It then asks before each step, and you choose Allow or Don't Allow.
